Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled Metal Fabrication Technician to join a manufacturing team that produces specialized metal components and precision tools. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with sheet metal, operating workshop equipment, reading technical drawings, and producing parts that meet strict quality requirements.

This role is suited to someone with strong mechanical skills, attention to detail, and experience in metal fabrication, welding, or toolroom operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabricate and modify metal components used in specialized manufacturing applications.
• Use hand tools, cutting tools, grinding equipment, and workshop machinery to shape and finish metal parts.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, mechanical blueprints, and technical specifications.
• Measure, inspect, and verify finished components using precision instruments to ensure accuracy.
• Perform detailed cutting, grinding, drilling, fitting, and finishing work.
• Assemble fabricated components into finished tools or fixtures.
• Perform TIG welding and work with different types of sheet metal.
• Set up and operate fabrication equipment, including metal brakes, shears, drill presses, and saws.
• Follow workplace safety procedures and maintain quality standards throughout the production process.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in metal fabrication, precision machining, or toolroom work.
• TIG welding experience, particularly with thin-gauge sheet metal.
• Experience working with steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
• Familiarity with manual fabrication equipment, including brakes, shears, grinders, and drill presses.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and fabrication layouts.
• Knowledge of drilling, tapping, grinding, and metal finishing techniques.
• Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and dial indicators.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with tight dimensional tolerances.
• Good mechanical aptitude and a commitment to producing high-quality components.

Work Schedule

• First-shift position.
• Monday through Friday.
• Minimum of 40 hours per week.
